Mutiny in Germany!

Written by Luveaucek at 19:42 10/12-2011

After losing time when Santana was injured on stage 4, and during the rest stages, Luveaucek is no longer present in the Germany GC standings. As they approached today's finish line in Heidelberg, the team decided to change its strategy.

Pomeroy will now try to get off the front and provide a springboard for Wajeeh, and Desmond, who will sit back and watch the peloton try to chase him. If he is caught, Essam and Ledgerwood will pack a one-two punch in a free-for-all finish to Freiburg.

  Stage 6: 2 VC's
  Ledgerwood - 11th jumped to 15th GC
  Essam - 28th still 3:00+ back?
  De Rouvres - 30th

  Stage 7: 1 VC
Ledgerwood - 20th moved up to 11th GC
  Essasm - 27th atleast 3:15+ back?

After some success over the last couple of stages, Desmond will continue as Luveaucek's vice captain, and Pomeroy returns to his domestique role a much happier rider. The team spirit across the squad is at peak form for the tour's biggest stage!

  King stage: 1 VC
Ledgerwood - 14th moved into 9th GC with a two minute gap
Essam - 25th jumped back into the GC to 14th
De Rourves - 24th staying with Wajeeh till the end!

After continuing to move up into 9th GC, Desmond will now try his hand on a break away during stage 9, a stage he's not really suited for. He is gunning for the few seconds Bayer grabbed on the king stage that cost him 8th!
